High School Seniors -- Prepare now for the 2024 Competition --

Art Scholar Competition 2024

We’re in the beginning stages of preparing for our annual Art Scholar Competition and want all eligible high school seniors to prepare as well!

APPLY ONLINE BY MIDNIGHT OF SATURDAY, APRIL 20, 2024:

We’re gearing up for our 2024 competition! The contest is limited to senior students in the public and private High Schools within the Canyons School District area. The foundation is offering from $100 to $1000.00 for a total of $6,000 available in prize money!

Entries must be original framed works of art (not copies from magazines or other works). There are 3 categories: 2-D, 3-D (including wood, jewelry, pottery and sculpture) and Photography/Digital. Crafts such as knitting, crochet, quilting etc. will not be accepted. Students may enter no more than two pieces.

Entry Due Date: Saturday, April 20, 2024

Online application must be filled out by Saturday, April 20, 2024 by midnight.
Art pieces must be delivered on Monday, April 22, 2024 to Draper City Hall (1020 Pioneer Road, Draper, Utah).

If students have not applied online by the deadline, their artwork will not be accepted. The receptionist at City Hall will have the list of applicants and will mark that you have turned in your artwork.

Student art will be on display in the foyer of Draper City Hall from April 22 to April 29, 2024.

Show Dates: Tuesday, April 23 - Monday, April 29 - 8am-5pm

The artwork will be on display from Tuesday, April 23 - Monday, April 29 in the lobby of Draper City Hall and open to the public during Draper City Hall office hours.

Awards and Reception Date: Monday, April 29, 2024 at 6pm

We will host an open house format Reception for all artists, patrons, friends, and family on Monday, April 29, 2024 at 6pm. Following the reception, the Awards Ceremony will begin at 7pm in the Draper City Council Room (located within the Draper City Hall).

Students must pick up their art pieces the day of the ceremony after it is over, or the artwork becomes donated to the foundation.

I am really grateful for the photography program at the Waterford School that has supported my growth as an artist through high school and I am beyond excited to continue my studies in the art department at UCLA!”
