Brendan Clary is an accomplished portrait painter. His work captures cherished loved ones and international leaders. He finds no subject as rewarding as the subtle and unique form of portraiture brought to life. All human beings are created in the image of God. Thus to view the human soul is to glimpse into eternity and begin to understand the divine.

Brendan graduated magna cum laude from Brigham Young University–Idaho in 2010, studied with renowned artist William Whitaker, and earned an MFA in Drawing and Painting from the Academy of Art University in 2025. He has taught drawing and painting at Salt Lake Community College since 2011, at Brigham Young University since 2023, and also offers private instruction.

In 2018 Brendan was commissioned to paint the official portrait of President Russell M. Nelson for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
