Art Genre: Oil Painting

Jeanne Flint was born and raised in the Mohawk Valley in upstate New York where she grew to appreciate the beauty and variety of nature. She learned how to draw and paint from her father who encouraged her to show her work in various local art shows. Her early influences were the Hudson River School of Artists, in particular the “Voyage of Life” series by Thomas Cole.

Jeanne attended Nazareth College in Rochester, New York on an art scholarship. During her college years she moved to Salt Lake City where she studied art at the University of Utah. After marrying Ken Flint and while raising children, she continued her art career through portraiture, illustrating books, designing commercial art and oil painting.

Jeanne joined the South Willow Art Group in 2009 and has learned much from her fellow artists and mentor, Richard Horrocks. She has shown her work in a variety of shows in New York and Utah, most recently the Sandy City Art Show, the Zion's Bank Art Show, the Draper Art Show and the Bountiful Art Shows. Jeanne has displayed in the Sandy City Art Show for the past 7 years. Jeanne is a board member of the Draper Visual Arts Foundation.
