Art Genre: Oil Painting

My journey as an artist began at the age of five. My early fascination with the intricate lines of automobiles and aircraft evolved into a dedicated pursuit of illustration, a craft I began honing at fourteen when I first picked up an airbrush. I hold a degree in Illustration from Brigham Young University’s Department of Design, where I had the privilege of studying under renowned educators Robert Barrett and Richard Hull. I was a freelance illustrator for three decades after my tenure at BYU. In 2000, a transformative trip to Hawaii—and the discovery of Roy Tabora’s luminous seascapes—shifted my focus toward oil painting. While my years in California were defined by the rhythm of the ocean, my move to Utah has inspired a deep immersion into mountainous subjects.
