Art Genre: Oil Painting

Samantha is a wife and mother who has pursued a workshop/mentorship style art education primarily in Utah and North Carolina. She loves painting the human form, both by observing from life and referencing her own photography. When painting alla prima or plein air, she focuses on portraying what she sees and what she feels in that place— or in the presence of that person— capturing moments in a way that lasts. Oil paint is her primary medium, with a bit of charcoal, soft pastels, watercolor, and graphite tossed in. Her work reflects her Christian faith while offering a universal connection to the beauty and contrast of the natural world. Through her art, she invites viewers to slow down, recenter, remember experiences that shape us, and turn us to God.
